As spring surges forward, a new journey begins; now is the time to don military uniforms and pursue dreams. On March 19, our city held the enlistment and departure ceremony for the first batch of recruits in the first half of 2026. Over 80 passionate young people boarded buses together, embarking on a journey to defend the country and contribute to national defense. They will head to places such as Xinjiang, Hunan, Beijing, and Guangdong, joining various branches including the Navy, Army, Air Force, and the People’s Armed Police to realize their aspirations of serving the nation.

At 10:00 a.m., in front of the Municipal People’s Armed Forces Department, the recruits stood in neat formation, wearing sashes and red flowers. Witnessed by the bright military flag, they stood upright, raised their right fists, and took an oath: “Obey the leadership of the Communist Party of China and serve the people wholeheartedly…” Their resounding vows echoed across the venue, demonstrating the firm determination of the new generation to strengthen the military and serve the people.

Amid the stirring sound of military songs, the recruits stepped one by one through a symbolic gate representing their change of identity. On one side stood their families seeing them off; on the other lay the life of a military camp. Many parents were moved to tears, filled with both reluctance and pride.

“When the call of the motherland sounded, we resolutely said goodbye to our parents’ care and the familiarity of home, choosing to put on this uniform. This is not a momentary impulse, but a well-considered decision—it is our best way to live up to our youth,” said recruit Zhou Guoliang. He added that they will dedicate their youth to their mission, safeguard the nation with passion, make achievements on the path of strengthening the military, and bring honor to their hometown.

After the ceremony, recruits and their families took photos together and bid farewell with embraces. “We hope our child will write his own chapter of youth wherever the country needs him, and strive to become an outstanding soldier with soul, ability, courage, and integrity,” said Yang Meifen, a parent of one of the recruits.

It is reported that since the launch of this year’s recruitment campaign, eligible young people across the city have actively responded to the call and enthusiastically signed up for military service. After strict physical examinations, political assessments, and pre-service training, a group of outstanding young people has stood out and proudly joined the ranks of the People’s Army, injecting fresh vitality into national defense and military development.
