Sun Daojun, Deputy to the National People’s Congress and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Accepts Interviews with Central and Provincial Media Supporting and Leading High-Quality Development of County-Level Economy with Characteristic Industries

In　recent　days，　while　attending　the　National　People’s　Congress　sessions　in　Beijing，　Sun　Daojun，　a　deputy　to　the　NPC　and　Secretary　of　the　Municipal　Party　Committee，　gave　interviews　to　reporters　from　China　Media　Group，　Hong　Kong　Commercial　Daily，　and　Hubei　Daily，　focusing　on　topics　such　as　innovation－driven　industrial　upgrading　and　high－quality　development　of　the　county－level　economy．

During　an　interview　with　China　Media　Group，　Sun　Daojun　focused　on　optimizing　and　upgrading　traditional　industries　and　actively　offered　suggestions　and　proposals．　He　introduced　that　in　recent　years，　Xiantao　has　promoted　industrial　renewal　through　scientific　and　technological　innovation．　By　leveraging　the　“Double　Hundred”　technology　empowerment　program，　the　city　has　integrated　innovation　into　sectors　such　as　construction　materials，　automotive　and　aerospace　industries，　and　modern　agriculture．　Breakthroughs　have　been　achieved　in　12　key　technologies，　including　100％　biodegradable　high－permeability　composite　membranes．

With　the　theme　“Xiantao　Striving　Forward　Toward　a　Trillion－Yuan　Economy，”　Hong　Kong　Commercial　Daily　conducted　an　exclusive　interview　with　Sun　Daojun．　Using　four　key　phrases—“stronger　vitality　of　everyday　life，”　“a　larger　circle　of　partners，”　“stronger　innovation　capability，”　and　“greater　economic　resilience”—Sun　outlined　the　blueprint　for　Xiantao’s　county－level　economic　development　in　2026．　He　stated　that　the　Hubei　Provincial　Party　Committee　has　entrusted　Xiantao　with　the　honorable　mission　of　“taking　the　lead　in　high－quality　development　of　county－level　economies　across　the　province．”　The　city　will　strengthen　its　sense　of　responsibility　as　a　development　pillar，　raise　development　benchmarks，　cultivate　a　solid　work　ethic，　and　comprehensively　enhance　development　capacity，　speed，　quality，　and　sustainability，　striving　to　achieve　GDP　growth　of　around　7％　in　2026．

In　an　exclusive　interview　with　Hubei　Daily，　Sun　said　that　in　recent　years　Xiantao　has　firmly　shouldered　the　responsibility　assigned　by　the　provincial　Party　committee　to　“lead　the　province　in　high－quality　development　of　county－level　economies，”　and　has　forged　a　path　of　supporting　and　leading　economic　growth　through　characteristic　industries．

Focusing　on　industrial　intelligentization，　the　city　is　refining　“a　piece　of　fabric．”　Xiantao　is　known　as　China’s　Nonwoven　Fabric　Industry　City，　with　more　than　2，000　enterprises　along　the　industrial　chain　and　over　100，000　employees，　forming　the　largest　industrial　cluster　of　its　kind　in　China　with　markets　reaching　worldwide．　With　the　support　of　Academician　Xu　Weilin　from　Wuhan　Textile　University，　basalt　fiber　has　been　developed　into　finished　firefighting　suits　capable　of　withstanding　temperatures　from　–150°C　extreme　cold　to　1300°C　high　heat．　The　project　has　completed　pilot　testing　and　achieved　small－scale　sample　production．

Focusing　on　industrial　greening，　the　city　is　building　“one　industrial　park．”　Xiantao　High－tech　Zone　is　the　third　national－level　high－tech　zone　in　China—and　the　first　in　Hubei—established　in　a　county－level　city．　By　emphasizing　both　“high－tech”　and　“innovation，”　the　zone　has　promoted　greener　industrial　development，　with　total　industrial　output　exceeding　70　billion　yuan　last　year．

Focusing　on　industrial　integration，　the　city　is　cultivating　“one　fish．”　Xiantao　is　known　as　the　“Capital　of　Yellow　Eel　in　China．”　One　out　of　every　four　yellow　eels　in　the　country　comes　from　Xiantao，　and　the　Xiantao　Yellow　Eel　brand　is　valued　at　30.65　billion　yuan．
