The Fifth Session of the Tenth Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) of Xiantao City Grandly Opens
On January 12， the Fifth Session of the Tenth Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference （CPPCC） of Xiantao City grandly opened at Xianyuan International Hotel．
Present at the opening ceremony were Sun Daojun， Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee； Xiong Xiangtao， Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor； Yu Wenhua， Secretary of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People’s Congress and Director of the Standing Committee； and Li Shaoyun， Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee． They attended the meeting and took seats on the podium．
On the front row of the podium sat Yin Jiali， Secretary of the CPPCC Party Group and Chairman of the CPPCC； Wei Jiajun， Deputy Secretary of the CPPCC Party Group and Vice Chairman； Vice Chairpersons Huang Wenbing， Dai Zhaomin， and Ye Fang； and Secretary－General Zhou Tao． The meeting was hosted by Huang Wenbing．
Also present and seated on the podium were Hu Changwei， Zhu Huiling， Xu Guoliang， Xu Youjun， Tang Jiangping， Liu Fangwu， He Mengye， Yan Zhichao， Zhang Tiqiang， Zeng Weixin， Cai Tao， Li Aihong， Liu Xingbing， Li Gongsheng， Du Weihua， Xu Long， Lei Dang， Liu Aihua， Li Weijia， Hu Chunping， and others， who were there to congratulate the meeting．
Attending the session were also Yan Xiaolong， President of the Hanjiang Intermediate People’s Court； Qi Jun， President of the Xiantao City People’s Court； and Long Shanshan， Chief Prosecutor of the Xiantao City People’s Procuratorate， who took seats on the podium．
The meeting had 392 members expected to attend， with 368 present． The number of attending members met the requirements of the CPPCC constitution．
At 9：00 a．m．， Huang Wenbing announced the opening of the meeting． All participants stood and sang the national anthem．
The meeting approved the agenda of the Fifth Session of the Tenth Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference （CPPCC） of Xiantao City．
Sun Daojun， on behalf of the CPC Xiantao Municipal Committee， delivered a speech and warmly congratulated the opening of the conference． He said that the past year of 2025 was a year of unity and progress for Xiantao， full of challenges and opportunities． Despite complex and severe macroeconomic conditions and heavy development tasks， the entire city focused on the goal of “focusing on building support points， striving for a two－trillion economy， and being the leader in development，” achieving remarkable results． These efforts led to a new phase in the development of the city， with significant contributions from the whole city’s cadres， the public， and the CPPCC members．
Sun Daojun emphasized that 2026 marks the beginning of the “Fifteen－Five” plan and is a key year for breakthroughs and overall improvement． He stated that the municipal party committee has set the goal of building a modern water town rural city and leading the province’s county－level economy toward high－quality development． The city aims to be a vital growth hub in the Wuhan Metropolitan Area and a model of urban－rural integration and high－quality agricultural development．
He hoped that the city’s CPPCC organization and members would continue to align with the Party’s goals， showcase loyalty， contribute wisdom， prioritize the people’s welfare， and reflect the image of the CPPCC， contributing to the high－quality development of Xiantao．
Sun Daojun further stated that CPPCC work is an integral part of the Party’s overall work． The Municipal Party Committee will continue to support the CPPCC， ensuring its political significance， opportunities for advice， and a platform for contributions， so that the CPPCC can continue to play a role in driving progress．
Yin Jiali， representing the Standing Committee of the Tenth CPPCC of Xiantao City， delivered a work report to the conference． He said that 2025 was a critical year for the “14th Five－Year Plan” and the planning of the “15th Five－Year Plan．” The CPPCC Standing Committee had worked hard to promote development， enhance quality， and contributed to the creation of a modern Chinese－style Xiantao． He emphasized that the core values of the CPPCC are loyalty to the Party， unity， democracy， responsibility， and integrity．
In the coming year， Yin Jiali stated that the CPPCC would work under the strong leadership of the CPC Xiantao Municipal Committee to strengthen political loyalty， focus on key development areas， uphold its mission of serving the people， promote unity and democracy， and strive for improvements in its operational capabilities to contribute to the construction of a modern water town and high－quality county－level economy．
Wei Jiajun， on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Tenth CPPCC of Xiantao City， reported on the progress of the proposal work since the Fourth Session of the Tenth CPPCC．
